BBI: Lisin wealthiest person in Russia, outruns Mordashov

MOSCOW, Jun 5 (PRIME) -- Vladimir Lisin, the major beneficiary of steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK), has become the wealthiest person in Russia outstripping Alexei Mordashov, the majority shareholder of steelmaker Severstal, who was number one during 267 days, Bloomberg said in a report accompanying its Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI) released on Tuesday.

The index is calculated basing on capitalization and financial reports of companies owned by the businessmen, or on a ratio between capitalization and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) or a ratio between a share price and earnings per share.

Lisin’s fortune rose by U.S. $2.17 billion to $20.19 billion since January 1 to make him the richest person after NLMK’s shares added 3.5% on Monday.

Mordashov’s fortune grew by $506 million to $20.18 billion in the period.
